The Alvik is designed for the intermediate paddler seeking performance,
comfort and elegance. It is also an excellent option
for the beginner who aspires to attain a higher skill level. A long waterline
allows the paddler to achieve excellent acceleration
and cruise speeds. A moderate rocker enhances manoeuvrability when leaning.
For long and short expeditions, whether loaded or not,
the Alvik is always an outstanding choice.
Alvik means "walrus" in the language of the Inuit.
The walrus is one of the most remarkable marine mammals inhabiting
the north. It is closely related to the seal, the lion of the
seas. The male of the species is spectacular with his two long tusks
shaped like sabres, measuring between 26 and 60 centimetres
in length. Adults can measure 3.6 m in length and weigh up to 1,400
kg.

The Kasko is a very responsive recreational kayak ideally suited
to exploring winding rivers, lakes and coastlines. Its
cockpit is smaller than that of the Ookpik, allowing the paddler a better
fit and therefore better control. For added adjustment,
the Kasko can be equipped with thigh braces.
In the Abenaki language, Kasko means great blue
heron. This migrating wader is found from Newfoundland to Alaska, migrating
as far south as Venezuela. The heron lives in marshy
areas and along the shores of lakes, where it calmly seeks out small fishes,
crustaceans and frogs.

The Ookpik is a very stable recreational kayak. It has a large,
comfortable cockpit, offering its occupant greater freedom
of movement. This kayak is ideally suited for exploring lakes or rivers
and for short trips along the coastline.
Ookpik is the Inuit name for the snowy owl, the
avian emblem of Quebec. This huge white member of the owl family is the largest
in North America, measuring nearly 50 cm from head to
tail and boasting a wingspan of nearly 1.5 m. Like other birds of prey, the
snowy owl is a protected species nationwide.

With a hull shape combining reverse hard chines and slightly concave
bottom, this kayak unites performance, wave-riding capability
and a surprising level of stability.
Using the Ookpik and Esperanto
as models, we designed a two-person kayak that can be paddled solo, thanks
to a sliding seat. The great versatility of the Ookpik
Duo makes it an ideal family craft. |
The Muktuk's low profile offers plenty of thigh support, making
it ideal for small to medium-sized paddlers. Its shape
generates minimal wind resistance, and the kayak is highly responsive during
turns. A tapered contour adds speed to a craft that is
stable, comfortable and easy to paddle. For closer adjustment, thigh braces
may be added as an option.
Muktuk is an Inuit word for whale hide and fat.
Eaten raw, muktuk is traditional Inuit food. Despite its rubbery consistency,
the Inuit love its hazelnut taste.

The Fjell features our factory installed thigh brace system, offering
uncompromising comfort and control. This ability to
self-custom fit easily guarantees the paddler a level of performance in a
plastic kayak available until now only in a composite
kayak. The reverse hard chine and semi-arched hull offer excellent secondary
stability and outstanding manoeuvrability. Paddlers seeking
storage capacity coupled with performance will not be disappointed.
Paddle for a day or a week, the Fjell can do it all.
The Fjell is available with rudder or skeg.
In Norwegian, language of the country where fjords
and mountains meet, fjell means "mountain". |
The Inukshuk, combining elegance and performance, is unquestionably
the fastest kayak in its category. Its long waterline
and tapered contour allow the kayak to accelerate quickly and track beautifully,
while the upswept bow provides buoyancy when paddling
in waves. A moderate rocker makes the kayak very agile while performing a
lean turn. This comfortable and spacious kayak features
a low profile offering minimal wind resistance, making the Inukshuk easy
to manoeuvre.
Inukshuk is the Inuit word for a stone monument
that serves as a marker for travellers in Canada's Far North. The human form
of the pile of flat stones conveys this message to the
Inuit: “Man has been here; you are in known territory.”

The Esperanto is the longest and fastest of our plastic tandems.
It is easy to paddle, comfortable and stable, and can
reach excellent cruising speeds. A moderate rocker and larger rudder contribute
efficiently to responsive turns. The practical centre
compartment can be used for extra storage or outfitted with an optional
child seat/bulkhead. The cockpits are spaced sufficiently
apart, allowing the paddlers to paddle at their own speed, without risk
of accidental collision between the two paddles. This makes
the kayak ideally suited to paddlers with mixed abilities or families
with young children.
Esperanto is a language used more and more in international
exchanges. It is not the language of a people, but more an
international language that can allow everybody in the world to understand
each other. Today, about 2 million people in the world
speak Esperanto.
